June 2026 HOLIDAY THEME - All about WATER!
From June 2 to June 19, we will be running holiday program for children age 3 to 7 years old.
There is a need to teach children the importance of water to life, the different states of water, the water cycle and the need to conserve water with good habits. In this holiday program, we will teach children through science experiments, discussions and craft activities.
Week 1 (June 2 to June 5, public holiday on Monday) – Our Water, Our Life!
- Understand that most water on Earth is saltwater (97%), and only a tiny fraction is fresh water available to us.
- Understand the importance of water in our lives and its uses.
- Why Drinking Water is important for good health?
- Identify the 3 states of water: Solid, Liquid, Gas
- Understand the concept of Float and Sink
- Experiment: Changing States
- Experiment: Float & Sink with salt
- Craft: Making a paper boat (Floating Fun)
Week 2 (June 8 to June 12) – Water Cycle, Recycled water
- Identify, compare, and describe the different forms of water on Earth.
- Identify the main stages of the water cycle: evaporation, condensation, and precipitation.
- How the water cycle helps us get clean water?
- Experiment: Evaporation and Condensation, how to get clean water
- Craft: Water Cycle paper plate craft
- Field trip on 12/6, Fri – Waterplay & water sustainability exhibits at Marina Barrage
Week 3 (June 15 to June 19) – Water Conservation & Water Sports
- Distinguish between Water-saving and Water-wasting habits.
- Develop strategies for saving water at home and school.
- Weather: Drought & Flooding
- Water Sports
- Experiment: Water Drop Craft (every drop counts)
- Craft: Save Water poster
- Field trip on 19/6, Fri – Walk to Trifecta (Water Sports- Surfing, Snowboarding, Skiing)
