About Us

Situated in the heart of Orchard Road at Orchard Plaza, Brainy Child Montessori Learning Centre aims to provide effective and quality lessons to children between the age of 18 months to 6 years old. We provide a wide range of preschool courses up to kindergarten levels. We are dedicated to bring out the full potential of the child and help them to prepare for Grade 1 or Primary 1.

Mission

To educate our children using the Montessori method and to provide a holistic education to bring out the full potential of the child.

Our Team

Teacher Vicky is our workgroup teacher. She has both a business diploma and a Montessori diploma(2007). She has chosen the preschool career as she has a deep love for children and thoroughly enjoys working with the children everyday. She has experienced teaching children of various age groups (from 18 months to 6 year olds) and in different settings (childcare and enrichment centers). She feels very proud that she has the opportunity to nurture and incorporate the young (the future leaders of this country) with the right values, sense of responsibility and social etiquettes

Teacher Lin our Chinese teacher is from China Guangdong. She has been teaching in preschool for over 6 years. During the 6 years of teaching, she has won the preschool outstanding teacher award in China, resulting in her school sponsoring her to attend a 6-months specialization course on teaching techniques for children. She is fun and energetic, always make her lessons effective and fun by incorporating songs and games so that children develop an interest in learning Mandarin.

Teacher Teo is our main workgroup teacher. She has been working with children for 8 years as a Montessori teacher. She is a strong advocate of the Montessori teaching methodology as she has seen the progress of her students over the years. She is professional, fun loving, systematic and responsible. Every child enjoys working with her. She holds a Diploma in Montessori education. She also teaches the weekend Phonics and Math enrichment classes.

Teacher Karmini is our playgroup teacher. Teaching has always been her passion and teaching children gives her joy, happiness and a sense of satisfaction. She holds a diploma in Montessori education and believes that a more hands-on approach would encourage the child to learn more. She is currently taking up diploma in child psychology as it gives her greater insight to the way children think and act. She also has a strong love for art and music and wants to be an inspiration and a mentor to the children under her care. She is currently also our Mum & Tot teacher.

What Is The Montessori Method

Brainy Child Montessori offers a full Montessori curriculum with standard Montessori materials. Here the children learn through hands-on experience and creative exploration. Enhanced learning and social development occur in this multi-age setting. The youngest children observe and interact with the older children. In turn the older children serve as role models and learn responsibility and leadership skills. The materials in each classroom are grouped into 5 major divisions: Language, Math, Science, Sensorial and Practical Life.

School bus transport can be arranged for both half-day and full-day children. Current bus route covers River Valley, Queenstown, Holland Village, Hougang and Sengkang areas.

Food

All meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks) are prepared in-house. We ensure that the meals are prepared hygienically, served warm and of good nutritional value. Our food is of international flavour (eg Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Western food) and our food contains no sodium monoglutamate, little salt and sugar content. We are able to cater to children with food allergies (eg eggs, milk etc).
